The Rules:
-
I have to like the music. Like, really like it.
-
[this is not an artistic judgement, it's about knowing if I'm a good fit or not ]
-
-
You should probably like me, but respectful toleration is ok.

-
No sex.
-
No drugs.
-
Only rock’n roll. Or whatever. Chamber Music is fine. Folk, Country, Jazz, etc.
-
No posse, no family, no friends, no hangers on, no record label people.
-
We’re in this to work, have fun while working, and get something done.
-
If you’re not into working & getting something done, I’m not the guy.
What you pay for:
Studio time. Musicians. Editing. Mixing. Mastering. Incidentals such as tape, hard drives, etc.
What you get:
All the audio files we create.
What I’m in charge of:
(with your input) budgeting, arranging, instrumentation, song structure, sonic texture.
My Cost:
It's Free. Yes. Free. I help you make your record for free. It’s a creative labor of love.
I will respectfully work out any creative differences, personality conflicts, etc. to the best of my ability and/or hire a 3rd party mediator if it’s something we can’t figure out how to resolve. However, I will simply walk away from "drama". I don’t put up with Drama. Drama includes (but is not limited to) everything listed in The Rules. You know what I mean, feigning ignorance is not an excuse. Life’s too short.
I DO NOT TAKE CREDIT FOR CO-WRITING
I DO NOT TAKE A SHARE OF YOUR PUBLISHING
I DO NOT OWN YOUR MASTER(S)
I DO NOT OWN A RECORDING STUDIO (I do own a mastering studio, a real one, it's not in my spare bedroom, it has a real address with real analog equipment and a vinyl cutting system, it's my day job that allows me to help you quit your day job)
How I get paid:
I get paid if the project is successful. I take a percentage of physical, digital, and streaming revenue. I get paid when you make money off the songs WE produce. Not I, we. It takes two. We make money. Both of us. You. And I. We figure out a percentage of physical/digital sales, streams, commercial placements, etc. and every quarter we settle up. Fair dinkum? This means, you have every opportunity to cook the books, and I’ll never know. Am I really that gullible? Yes. But if that’s who you are, we’re probably not making a record in the first place.
